Born in the island of Jamaica, Sifu Troy Gonsalves moved to Australia at nine (9) years of age.
A couple years thereafter his family migrated to the United States, where he began training in the
art of Kung Fu. He is trained in boxing, Southern and Northern Kung Fu, Wing Chun, Grappling and
Submission fighting.
Sifu Troy has been training in the Bak Shaolin Eagle Claw system since 1987 and is currently a disciple of Sigung Steve Chin. Gaining the rank of Instructor 1992, he took his knowledge and returned to his homeland, Jamaica in 1995 to establish Wing Lung (Jamaica), currently the only traditional Kung Fu School on the island..
On July of 2000, Sifu Troy was inaugurated as a 33rd generation Shao Lin Temple Disciple. In August 2005 he traveled to Deerfield Beach where he opened Wing Lung (Deerfield). He continues to operate Wing Lung (Jamaica), with Sihing Matthew functioning as head instructor.
Sifu Troy commutes between Florida and Jamaica to ensure the high standard that he established are continued in both schools. He is a "perfectionist" and a stickler to details; this, one can see for themselves upon visiting any of his kwoons.
